Whatever your definition of a party is, I have a few ideas for you and your guests to dance the night away, get your drink on, and have a blast on your wedding day! Once your dinner is served, cake is cut, the first dance has already been danced, it's time to have a wild time surrounded by all of your favorite people!
Start out with a basket of cheap flip flops for your guests in uncomfortable high heels who aren't brave enough to go barefoot on the dance floor. Make sure that you have some great dancing music playing. Whether it's a DJ or a live band, make sure that they just get you, and you can trust them with some good tunes! Have a mix of older classics, as well as some recent music playing. (For my sake, please play Uptown Funk...) Keep the drinks flowing! Whether it's just beer and wine, a champagne bar, or if you're daring you could have a shot bar! If you choose to go with the liquor, give your guests disposable cameras to capture all of the crazy moments. Plus, it's a proven fact that you'll get more people up to dance if they've got a shot of tequila! And maybe after a long night of dancing, end your night with a big confetti pop!
Be sure to also have some fun things to do if your guests aren't big dancers, or drinkers. Any sort of yard game is always good for guests to play and mingle. Or have a photo booth! I've noticed that in the past few years photo booths have become a necessity at many weddings. Have an array of different props to hold, some hats, some crazy sun glasses, maybe a sign that says "team bride!". This way you can send your guests home with a party favor that they can look back and laugh at.
But regardless of what you choose to do at your reception, both you and your guests are going to have fun! And you're going to remember it for the rest of your life! (Unless you have too much of that tequila...)
