I have to admit - with a smaller budget I wasn't initially planning to hire a planner. However after meeting Lori for our initial consultation I was SOLD! Lori and her team at Elegant Affairs was the best investment we could have made for our big day. I knew I could do most of the planning myself - but gosh was it handy to have her non-biased and honest opinion just a quick email away. I also wanted to ensure that both my mother and mother in-law could enjoy our wedding WITH us rather than everyone being stressed out and overwhelmed. 

Lori did a fantastic job throughout the entire process. She has flexible packages to accommodate your needs and budget.  As an A-type personality and project coordinator myself I thought I had covered all the bases, but quickly learned how little I knew of the wedding industry despite having Pinterest in my back pocket. With Lori’s knowledge of the area and referral vendors we were able to budget appropriately and think critically about which parts of our day were most important to us. This included advice on invitations, flowers, linens, theme, and any DIY projects my creative mind could conjure. Which ultimately allowed us to maximize our budget and get the best value for our investment. Outside of the advice she provided as we made our major decisions, I felt that Lori was truly invested in making our day unforgettable and never felt that I was competing with any of her other weddings in terms of her capacity to respond in a timely manner. She became my friend – that was ALWAYS there. 

Lori handled all the logistics and politics that go along with planning any major family event – pushed her sleeves up with confidence and got in there to tackle my woes. Her responsiveness and professionalism were top notch even when dealing with some of our more challenging vendors. Her genuine personality blended well with our entire bridal party including ‘the moms’ and was a joy to be a part of our wedding day. The wedding day itself was absolutely perfect and went off without a hitch, mostly impart due to my confidence that Lori would handle anything that arose and we could truly enjoy our incredible day. She went out of her way to assist in day of pickups and last minute arrangements, made sure we had cocktails and that we ate but at the same time was discrete so guests would hardly have noticed she and her team were there. My now husband was very impressed – and said at the end of the night she was worth every penny and more.

 

Final verdict: Even with a small budget and not needing a planner – you absolutely NEED Lori!!!

I could not have had my wedding without Lori and her team. I honestly don't know how you can have a wedding without at least a day of coordinator. Lori made the wedding run smooth and seamless, even our guests commented on this. Lori and her team was very professional and efficient. I did not have to worry about anything during the wedding and they did all my setup/decorating. When I needed something I said "I need Lori!" and she came running- like when my dress had a small rip in the seam, she came and sewed it for me in minutes (yes she brings a day of emergency kit!!!). 

Aside from day of coordination, she is extremely helpful with finding vendors and she will also be able to get you better deals with vendors. She was always there when I needed her for any questions, opinions, and guidance on anything. She is very responsive to emails/calls, anything you need. She also has a lot of weddings supplies available for very cheap rental fee so you don't waste money buying things you really don't need (vases, votives, etc.). With Lori I knew that everything would work out and be okay! I just cannot say enough good things about Elegant Affairs.

Where do I even start while describing how wonderful my experience was with Elegant Affairs? All I know is I should have contacted Lori Losee sooner! I am confident I can contribute the success, fun, and beauty of our wedding renewal to her completely.

Lori went above and beyond while working with us. From day one I felt like a priority to her and she made herself available to me whenever I needed. She was great to bounce ideas off of, create unique decoration and themed materials with, and was always thinking of how we could save money while still making our day gorgeous. Because of her great communication skills, her flexibility, and the hard work she put in, the big day came and I was virtually stress free.

As soon as Lori arrived to the TriCities (yes, she even traveled to work with us), she was ready to help however she could. I am not a big fan of attention or asking for help, but even that day Lori made me feel comfortable enough to let it all be about my husband and myself. She kept us on schedule, was continually asking how I was feeling and what my concerns were, and made sure I was snacking and drinking water. I felt so at ease and taken care of that day – I can’t imagine doing our renewal without her. Lori even helped dish us our dinner and bring us any drinks we needed. This special attention is what makes her service so amazing – it is above and beyond what we ever expected.

Lori was also a friendly face during our day – all of our family and friends had a great time meeting her and were so impressed with her work. She did a great job of introducing herself to people, answering any questions they had, and being kind to our special guests. She was part of our group that day, not a stranger, and that truly sets her and her team apart.

Last but not least, Lori was our advocate. When issues arose or things were stressing me, I knew I could tell Lori and then forget about them. She was on top of everything! There were so many little things that I would have never thought to prepare for or be aware of and she took care of them, no questions asked. At points in the day, we had issues with flowers and running out of alcohol and I knew almost nothing about them -Lori and her team did not give me the chance to worry about a single thing.

I know I look back on my special day with rose-colored glasses; it was of course our wedding renewal! But at the same time, I know without a doubt that hiring Lori Losee was the best decision and investment we made for our renewal. Elegant Affairs was the piece that really made everything happen, held everything together, and I look forward to the future and having more events with their team.

I'm so glad we used Elegant Affairs! Lori was our "day of" wedding coordinator and she was invaluable. She met with us several times before the wedding to ensure every detail was in place, and confirmed these details with all our vendors so I didn't have to worry about anything. She was at the rehearsal as well, and politely made sure the wedding coordinator from the Church knew what we wanted, which alleviated a lot of stress. She was always prompt, professional, friendly, and full of energy.

On the day of our wedding, Lori anticipated needs before they even arose. Little things, like making sure we had food and water, and making sure I set down my very heavy bouquet between pictures so my arms didn't get tired. Every time I turned around to say, "Lori, what about..." or "Lori, did we get..." she replied, "It's already been taken care of". It was a fabulous weight off my shoulders and it meant our friends and family didn't have to run around like crazy people trying to coordinate or deal with anything. We all enjoyed the wedding without any concern about the logistics. There were SO many small details, and Lori handled all of them perfectly. I have recommended her to everyone I know, and I honestly feel that hiring Lori was the best money we spent on the whole wedding!

Even though she was just a day of coordinator, she would respond to my multiple questions months ahead of time promptly via email. The day of our wedding, Lori made sure everything was set up perfectly and that I had as little stress as possible. Her and her 2 assistants made sure that the ceremony started on time and people knew where to go afterward. She also made sure that every formal part of the reception went smoothly and on time. We hired Lori to be the day coordinator at our wedding in Idaho this past weekend and I am so thankful that we had her there! Not only was she flexible enough to travel from Seattle to Northern Idaho for our big day, but her package also included a few pre-wedding planning sessions where we were able to put together a wedding day timeline and talk about aspects of the day that I didn’t even know I needed to think about. We had an outdoor/indoor wedding that required a lot of coordination to set up the venue and Lori took care of all of that while I was getting my hair and makeup done. I should stop and say that the days preceding my wedding were full of last minute projects (i.e. the programs, assembling our wedding favors, getting last minute decorations) so by Friday night I was pretty stressed out, but Lori assured me that she would take care of everything from there and I knew I didn’t have to worry about anything on the day of my wedding.

My only regret is not hiring Lori to plan my entire wedding and only hiring her as a day coordinator. I think that the whole planning process would have been more organized and I would not have been doing last minute projects in the days leading up to my wedding if I would have had Lori helping me with every detail.

On our wedding day Lori came around with us in almost 90 degree weather while we took pictures and made sure we had everything we needed – even going back to our house to pick up our dog so she could be in our pictures! I wasn’t able to really see the venue or the church before the wedding but it looked better than I ever could have imagined and that was all thanks to Lori. The great thing about having her there on your wedding day is that you and your parents get to enjoy the day without worrying about the little details that usually stress them out (especially moms) like making sure the food gets out on time, that you have champagne at your table, or that all of the cleanup gets done.

Lori is so organized and prepared for anything. If you are looking for someone who genuinely cares about making your day as perfect and stress free as possible then you need to hire Lori. I promise you will be nothing but grateful that you did!

Everyone tells you that a wedding is just one day but those people are wrong. A wedding lasts for as long as you are planning it whether that is 24 hours or like in my case, 16 months. Many people make your wedding day possible and a lot of those people are with you for the entire process. Some are with you on the day even more than your fiancée.

This is all to say choose your vendors carefully because you will spend a lot of time with them. That is why I am truly thankful I found Lori. When other people could care less about the color of the table clothes, she would spend time with me discussing color and size and texture and anything else that could possibly be considered. I could lean on her when I needed too, like

when the best man started dating a girl that I was convinced would drink too much and fall on the cake.

During planning meetings, she was prepared, pleasant and punctual and she always met me in places that were accommodating to me. The day of the wedding I was amazed at how much I didn't realize I would need her. If my family had to be reigned in to do her job then all the planning I had done would have been left to the interpretation of those who have never done anything like it before. Instead, I worried about myself and left her to make my vision come true.

When recently engaged friends ask me for advice, I say one thing. Hire a wedding coordinator and if you are smart, you will hire Lori Losee.

Originally we hadn't planned on hiring a wedding coordinator because we had done most of the planning ourselves. After asking a few of my friends what they recommended for a future bride the most, they all agreed "Get a wedding planner!". From the first time I met Lori I felt comfortable with her. She was warm, postive, and really passionate about what she did (which sealed the deal)! From the beginning Lori had excellent communication, and if she sensed I was in need of help, she was there for me. Lori was able to organize our 'day of' plans as well as put out all the little fires that arrose throughout the day for us. I would like to add that our wedding is the only wedding I know of that actually started on time! I even had people asking me afterwards about her because everything seemed so organized and went flawlessly or so it seemed).

I honestly can say I don't know what I would have done without her! By the way...after the wedding we even had a friend book her because they saw how great she was.
