My older younger brother. Strategically brilliant, fit, active, always seems to get his way. Good sense of humor. Stressors that get me spinning: check out this ESTP stress head! #mbti #myersbriggs

This week we will be joining forces with the master problem-solving ESTP bride! (Extrovert, Sensor, Thinker, Perceiver). Get your hiking boots, compass, and safety whistle because this bride is taking us on an adventure!

1. Known as the "persuader" and "entrepreneur", this lovely lady is recognized for her ability to take action and risks. With no fear for speaking her mind, the ESTP bride is blunt and incredibly straight-forward with her wants and needs for her special day. CAUTION! Do not get in this bride's way, she loves to get her hands dirty and will passionately fight for what she believes in!

You dont want your photographer to miss any of the sweet moments of your wedding day. These ideas and photo ops are an absolute must.

2. Some other ESTP's that might ring a bell are Angelina Jolie, Donald Trump, and Winston Churchill (quite a list!). The ESTP bride loves to live in the moment and will want to share her excitement with her vast pool of friends! "Bride Most Likely to Have 10+ Bridesmaids and 30+ Attendees to her Bachelorette Party Badge" awarded right here! Can we blame her? We all love her confidence!

How the bridesmaids met the bride. So cute!

3. This woman's mind is stronger than your first set of acrylic nails. No amount of adversity, conflict, restrictions, and negativity can bring this woman down. In fact, she loves nothing more than being doubted because nothing will give her greater satisfaction than proving others wrong. This bride works best when she's close to the deadline and nothing will stop her from having the wedding of her dreams! This bride will smile at the face of rain, angry relatives, and a late groom because if anyone can find a solution, it's this gal!

haha im so doing this when im planning my wedding ...

4. This bride likes to jump first and see what happens later. She's a natural at thrill seeking and loves spur of the moment adventures. I can guarantee the ESTP bride will be most in her element with a destination wedding in  the middle of a tropical forest or something just as exotic! (I need an ESTP bride in my life!)

Wouldn't it be amazing to get married here - in JAMICA?

See you next week!

To or not to see your groom prior to ceremony

Monday, May 4, 2015
Many brides go the traditional route and choose to not see the groom before the wedding day. Choosing to not see each other before the wedding can make the moment when the bride walks down the aisle that much more special and amazing. While it may be hard to resist the urge to see one another, there is still a way you can be close without the groom getting a sneak peak of the bride.  A trend I have seen lately is the bride and groom divided by a wall holding hands right before the ceremony. I think this is such an intimate moment and so special for a couple to do right before they say “I do.” This intimate moment is so special and can make for some pretty amazing photos.  There is something so mysterious and exciting about not seeing each other until that very moment when the doors open and the bride enters the ceremony. While many people may say the wedding is all about the bride, having a special moment moments before the wedding can be extremely powerful and each couple deserves that final moment as a non-married couple with one another.

Styling Sunday 7: The ABC's Behind the "I Do's" Part 3

Sunday, May 3, 2015
Hello, my friends.  Today we finish the last post of my "ABC's behind the "I Do's."  This week we get to discuss "C": Canopies!  If you need a little refresher on my past two installments, see "A" for altars here and "B" for backdrops here!

I’d have to say that canopies are the most popular choice for the ceremony.  It’s a classic design seen in a variety of ways: an arch, arbor, or chuppah.  What the heck, Kim?  What’s the difference?  Well, they are all quite similar as they all derive from being a canopy above you.  An arch is rounded while an arbor tends to be more rectilinear.  A chuppah is traditionally seen in Jewish ceremonies and symbolizes the home you and your spouse will build together.  A chuppah consists of four poles with a cloth “roof” as its covering.  (PS, after much rigorous research on the pronunciation of that word, it can be said as CHUP-uh or KOOP-uh.  It can also be spelled without the “c” and be pronounced HUP-uh.  So, there ya go.  I knew you might’ve been curious like me.)  Adorn your canopy with greenery or florals for a wonderfully romantic feel.  Or leave it bare to focus on the simplistic beauty of your union.  It's up to you!  Any way you choose to decorate this element will end up looking timeless because of the canopy's classic design.
Well, that concludes my "style the aisle" ABC's!  Hope you all enjoyed the various ways to get creative with your ceremony space.  After all, that's the place where you say your vows, pledge your love and start your forever!

Happy Sunday, you guys.
xoxo, Kim

Food-Tastic ideas for a Fiesta

Friday, May 1, 2015

My parents have been married for over thirty years, and celebrate their wedding vows each year in September. They are not a pair to make anything a big ordeal, and are leery about drawing the attention towards them unnecessarily. In fact, it wasn’t until I was in middle school or even high school when I learned that my parents’ wedding and my dad’s birthday share the same spot on the calendar.

I share my birthday spotlight with Cinco de Mayo, or rather I should say my birthday is in the spotlight because it is on Cinco de Mayo! Birthday dinners were always held at my favorite Mexican restaurants, sometimes with the sombrero but always with the “Feliz cumpleaños a ti,” and the piñata on my 21st was no surprise, a huge a hit.

You can’t deny a good time when it comes to Cinco de Mayo (I know from personal experience.) So make room on your calendar for both- and use some of these fiesta inspired food-tastic ideas to spice up your life.

7-layer-dip is a fiesta standard

Mini Tacos and Patron?
I'll take the whole tray, please.

Anticipate long lines. Plan for an additional food-truck,
or a mariachi band to keep guests entertained while they wait.

Use this iconic bottle instead of place cards,
or as a last reminder of the day as favors.
See you next Friday!
